  1. Get The Right Advice. Be careful to only take business advice from people who have actually had success in that business. To do otherwise would be like asking for dieting tips from an overweight person. If you want to run like a runner ...talk to a runner. You will get the best advice by talking to people who are currently getting what you want for yourself.

  2. Know The Real Benefits Of Big Commissions vs Small Commissions. Go after the compensation plan that will reward you with large commissions for your own personal efforts. It's just too hard to get to 6+ figures a year when you're collecting tiny paychecks. 10 sales paying out a $900 commission per sale is more achievable than making 1000 sales that pay $9 each! Additionally, understand that when you build a business where your sales price has just a small margin of profit - you don't have the dollars available to allocate to marketing and pay you a profit at the same time. Every professional marketer understands that your margin of profit is what both pays you and pays for your marketing - and that amount needs to be built into your sales price. That's predominantly why you don't see MLM distributors buying traffic on google or any of the search engines. Watch this - let's say you buy a keyword phrase like 'making money fast online'. That's a great problem statement. Let's further assume that out of every 100 click through's to your web site that 1 person buys. If the cost of your keyword was $1 per click, then your cost to convert 1 sale would be $100 (100 clicks x $1). That's not good if you sell a product that only has a profit margin of $99 or less because every time you make a sale you'll be losing money. However, if your profit per transaction was $900 a sale - then you would have net profit of just over $800 for each sale you made. Not bad. But that is why MLM products don't work in pay per click advertising. So, whether it costs you $100 in classified advertising, or $100 for a banner ad, and the list goes on - you need a business model with a big profit margin built in. It's one of the most significant things you can do in your marketing - have a wide enough margin of profit that allows you to profit with even mediocre marketing campaigns. If you don't learn to think this way - you will never have an automated marketing plan.

  3. Gain Leverage Through Matching Overrides. Make every effort to find a pay plan that rewards you with matching commission overrides on the production of every other person who is in your business. If you don't have that, then even if you were able to generate a $1,000 commission for every sale you closed - you would still have to produce 30 sales yourself in order to make $30,000. However, if you can find a company that pays out a 100% matching override - then all you need to do is generate ONE SALE YOURSELF and have 15 average people in your business who only generate 2 sales a month for themselves ...if you did that, you would earn more than $30K. It is this kind of leverage that makes it possible for high six figure earnings. Some companies do pay out overrides - but they aren't matching overrides. Without matching overrides - your chances for big income are severely diminished, and it means YOU must become a super sales person yourself if you want to achieve significant income. Worse than that though - is the fact that you can't stop - because if you do, so does your income. Matching overrides can provide you with perpetual earning power.

  4. Protect Yourself & Avoid Pass Ups & Breakaways. Stay away from breakaway or pass up compensation programs! Avoid the companies that require you to 'pass up' or 'give up' your first 1 or 2 sales (or parts of your sales) in order for you to become qualified to earn commissions. Many of these companies dress up their pass up requirements because they tell you that after you pass up your initial sales to your sponsor - that you will earn 100% of every future sale you make. In truth, once you make your pass ups (or give up your first sales or parts of sales) - you become an absolute competitor to your sponsor in that program. Think about it for a moment - if you are able to earn 100% of every sale after you have given up your pass up sales - then your sponsor will never earn another dime on your production ever again. There is zero financial incentive for them to ever provide you with an ounce of support once this has happened. The same thing will happen to the people whom you bring into the system. Once you've collected the pass up sales from them - you cannot earn off them anymore. So, what incentive would you have to share your best marketing secrets with them? There flat out would not be one. For that reason, don't be naive enough to think that any sponsor of a pass up program will share their best income making strategies with you. With pass up programs there are no overrides.

  5. Ensure Success With A Wide Range Of Real Products. Look for a company that offers a wide range of real products. Make sure the company also provides you with an online store front to make it easy to market your products. The products the company has also need to be 'in demand' and there needs to be at least one major flagship product that is unique & proprietary to the company in order to give you a selling advantage over the competition. Without that, you risk just being another 'me too' product offering.

  6. Demand Training & Support 24/7. You need a substantial training and support center as part of your private back office. The company needs to be able to coach and mentor you beyond Pay Per Click marketing. You need an arsenal of tactics and strategies that people with little or zero marketing budget can use in order to begin creating sales right away. You must be able to access training 24/7. If the company does not have a less than spectacular training program - then how could any beginner even hope to attract and support the people they bring into the system? Know this: it is your right to demand that you see the training resources offered by a company BEFORE you decide to join that company. Using technology widely available to any corporate entity - every company should be able to give you a guided tour of their private training and support area which you should be able to see directly on your home computer. Don't fall for any excuse a company may give you that says you can't see the training and support area until you pay in full and join. If a company has a strict no refund policy - that's OK as long as you can inspect the training and support they offer before you buy into the program. In addition, look for a company that conducts daily & weekly web presentations, conference calls & training's. Lack of proper support and training accounts for the largest number of business fatalities in this industry.

  7. Have Your Own Sales Center & Sales People. Seek out a company with a professional sales call center! Why? Because 80% of all people cannot sell - and most people do not feel comfortable selling people themselves. Even though marketing on the internet can be fully automated, understand that your prospects will call you to see if you are a real person and to get their questions answered. Many beginners need to have the option of using a sales center to do all the selling, telling and convincing for them if they are to have any hope of being successful themselves. The best sales center is one where sales people collect about 20% of your commission AFTER they have made a sale for you AND where you get paid first. A sales center means that you never have to sell anyone yourself! All you do is learn to drive traffic to your web site (something the company must teach you) - and then, your army of sales people take over. But, beware of any company that allows their sales people in the call center to have their own positions in the company. In other words - they must not be allowed to develop their own business on the side. If that happens - understand the sales center's sales people will be in competition with you. Unless you are guaranteed that sales people cannot have a position within the company you are looking at - you risk the sales people being tempted to take your leads for themselves. The only way to guarantee that does not happen is to join a company that has a written policy preventing people in the sales center from having their own position in the company. There are many companies that staff their sales centers with existing members - and they make all sorts of good sounding excuses for it. Just remember that joining a company where that happens is incredibly dangerous for you and it is outright stupid for you to do.

  8. Avoid Hype. Don't be suckered in with hype. There are several very good companies on the competitive landscape. Any company that claims to be the only legitimate player in the marketplace is one you should avoid. Stay away from companies that bash the competition. Every great company CEO should be accessible to you by way of public conference calls and webinars that feature LIVE Q&A in order that you get your pressing questions answered. Additionally, any company that fails to tell you that there is a learning curve with online marketing is not being truthful - and their eyes are more on your wallet then on your well being. Yes, spectacular incomes can be earned marketing on the internet. However, the price to get there is a learning curve that is supported by incredible and consistent training sponsored by the company.
